BC now 4-3 in HCAC, downs Hanover 70-67


Bluffton put itself back into a tie for third place in the HCAC with a 70-67 win at Hanover College Saturday afternoon.

An 18-2 run early in the first half put BC in control, but the home team battled back to regain the the lead with 1:41 left before halftime. Baskets from Kristy Crall and Elizabeth Snavely, however, put put BC back on top 35-32 at the intermission.

The Panthers shot 50% from the floor in the second half and led from the 17:48 mark all the way until the 3:49 mark, when Jen Bear hit a jumper giving BC a lead that they would not relinquish.

Back-to-back baskets from Snavely with 1:18 and :34 remaining kept the lead in Bluffton's favor, then Kristin Helvey sunk two free throws with :03 to go to seal the verdict.

Snavely led BC with 20 points, while Helvey added 13 points and seven assists. Crall and Bear added 10 points each.
