The Bluffton College volleyball team will take their 17-15 record into the Heartland Conference tournament this weekend, held here at Bluffton. The times are not yet decided, but play will start on Friday evening around 6 p.m.

Last week, the Beavers traveled first to Defiance on Tuesday and then to the Calvin Tournament in Calvin, Michigan over the weekend. The Beavers were victorious over Defiance in 4 games (15-9, 11-15, 15-6, 16-14). This moved them to 16-12 on the season, and 4-3 in the conference. Their first game on Friday at the Calvin Tournament was against Wittenberg, and unfortunately the Beavers lost in three games (10-15, 10-15, and 7-15). They then played Rose-Hulman and beat them in three games (15-7, 16-14, and 16-14).

Then on Saturday Bluffton played Calvin, which the Beavers were unable to hold onto, and lost in 4 games (11-15, 15-6, 8-15, and 11-15). Last for the team was Hope College, this match went into five games, but the Beavers came up short (12-15, 15-8, 17-15, 5-15, and 14-16).

The Beavers are led by junior Mandy Pequignot in kills with 397, junior Erica Jellison in aces with 46, senior Alison Harrer with 473 digs, and Betsy Hook with 109 blocks.

Before the season comes to an end at the conference tournament, the Beavers were to have traveled to Oberlin College on Wednesday, November 1.
