November 27, 1999

Bluffton College outscored Ohio Northern University 33-28 in the second half Saturday night, but it wasn't enough to overcome a 23 point halftime deficit as ONU, ranked #10 in the country, took an 18 point decision from the Beavers 73-55.

ONU held BC scoring leader Jeremy Roberts to just five points in the first half and went on scoring runs of 10-2 and 14-4 to build their halftime lead.

Roberts scored BC's first eight points of the second half, though, as Bluffton trimmed the ONU lead to 12 at 59-47 with 8:10 remaining the game. However, ONU went on a 10-0 run to put the game out of reach.

Roberts scored 15 points in the second half and finished with 20 points to lead all scorers. The junior hit on nine of 12 field goal attempts and collected eight rebounds to lead BC.

Sophomore Rod Overmyer hit two big three point baskets in the second half to close the gap, as he finished with 10 points and was the only other Bluffton player in double digits.

ONU shot 48% from the floor and was led by Scott Unverferth and Mike Kluse with 18 points each.
