Manchester rally sinks BC 76-67


Bluffton College fell to a Manchester College rally Wednesday night 76-67 on the Spartan home court.

BC led 37-33 at halftime and went up by as many as nine points in the second half before the hosts went on a 17-2 run midway through the second half to take control of the game.

Manchester hit 17 of 20 free throws in the game and was a perfect 8-8 from the charity stripe in the final 1:09 of the contest. Bluffton went to the line just 13 times, converting eight chances. Manchester shot 49% from the field, while BC shot 42%.

Jeremy Roberts led the Beavers with 22 points and nine rebounds. Travis Elsass netted 19 points and recorded 11 rebounds and six assists, both game-highs. Ben Coole added 11 points.

Four Manchester College players hit in double figures, led by Yul Lee and James Scott with 17 each.

Bluffton will return to Founders Hall Saturday for a 3:00 p.m. non-league contest with Thomas More College. The annual alumni game will tip-off at 1:00 p.m. followed by a special Parent's Day ceremony.
