Cross Country squads in action at Hanover

The BC men's and women's cross country teams continue to have good showings at regional meets, and this past weekend at the Hanover Invitational was no exception. With a 13th place finish for the women's team, head coach Mark Bluman continues to be optimistic with his teams' chances in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. "I'm quite pleased with how the season has started out," the second year head coach pointed out. "On the women's side we have already had three times that surpassed our three best times from last year."

And leading the pack for the women's team is freshman Kristen Stager (Oregon/Cardinal Stritch), who turned in a season's best 20:39.7 at the Hanover meet, good for 32nd place out of the nearly 200 runners in the 5K run. On the men's side, freshman Cory Schoenherr notched a 31st place finish with a time of 28:42.5 for the 8K run.

"They'll continue to improve as they learn more about collegiate distance running," added Coach Bluman. The cross country teams will be in action again this Saturday at the Bowling Green State University Invitational meet.
